¡Lo siento mis chiquitos! “Las palabras son poder” has been on hiatus for a few weeks and will continue to be until the new year. Redesign and restructuring is underway…So, if you need to check for missing and make-up work please sign-in to EDLINE. Day of the Dead Week

lunes: el 31 de octubre

SP1 and SP2: Today was “Make-Up and Claen-Up Day”…in Español 1 & 2 we revisited, discussed and completed “El día de los muertos” Study Guide Notes…Students were given some time to finish up their “Day of the Dead” cartoons and turn them in…SP2 had time to complete their partner “Fringe” activity using synonyms…We also discussed the “Calavera Project” and “La fiesta de los Muertos” on Thursday…

REMEMBER: Tuesday, November 1st (El Día de Todos los Santos – All Saint’s Day) all “Calavera” Artwork Projects are due…

martes: el 1 de noviembre

SP 1 and SP2: Today, we wrote “Calavera” poems…Each poem must be at least 7 lines long and must be typed. Tomorrow, in class, everyone will read their poem…

miécoles: el 2 de noviembre (…el día de los muertos…)

All SP1 and SP2 classes will share their CALAVERA poems with each other aloud…Remember…practice reading your poem (at home) before presenting it orally to the class – practicing ahead of time can calm your nerves…

jueves: el 3 de noviembre

All classes will be preparing for “La fiesta de los Muertos”…each class period will help in either the construction and design of decorations or the actual decorating of the cafeteria for tonight’s event…See the FIESTA tab at the top of this webpage for more information concerning tonight’s festivities…

Español 1

lunes: Review and correct Chapter One Workbook Pages 1.3 and 1.4 (This will serve as a study guide for Vocabulario 1 Quizam on 10/13)…Review and recite vocabulary 1 on textbook pages 22 and 23.

martes: Review and Reteach Voc 1 (22/23) words and then add Pages 26 and 27 (Vocabulary 2) to the list of Chapter 1 Vocabuary. During class, all students will view and interact with Chapter 1 “Asi se dice” Powerteach Computer Software. Assignment: Workbook Pages 1.5 and 1.6

miercoles: Finish yesterday’s assignment…Review and Reteach Vocabulary and Adjective agreement for tomorrow’s exam (Pages 22/23 and Study Guide Sheet)…Assignment: Textbook Page SH3 – Partner Dialog Activity…each pair will complete the activity while the teacher moves around the groups checking for understanding.
